The Seldovia Planning Commission is a five member board appointed by the Mayor each for a three year term. The Planning Commission provides for the administration of any ordinance or programs related to planning and zoning or building codes. The Commission is also responsible for preparing and, from time to time, amending the Comprehensive Plan, subject to adoption by the City Council.

Regular Meetings of the Commission are held on the first Monday of each month. Building permit applications are due in the City offices at least 10 days prior to the meeting. Applications for variances, conditional uses, and subdivisions, must be received by the City offices at least three weeks prior to the meeting.
